On April 29, 2008, ConocoPhillips China Inc announced its support of the TEDA International Cardiovascular Hospital, Tianjin by providing a RMB500,000 ($71,500) award to the Hospital’s Love & Hope Project. ConocoPhillips' commitment to support the communities where it operates will allow surgery to be offered for fifty children from disadvantaged families who suffer from congenital heart disease.

The Love & Hope Project was developed by the China Association of Social Workers (CASW) and TEDA International Cardiovascular Hospital of Tianjin to fund heart surgery for to 2-14 year-old children who are born with a heart condition or who are suffering from heart disease. All the children selected to benefit from this program are either orphans or from poverty-stricken families. Each selected child will be awarded RMB10, 000 ($1,500) to fund their heart surgery.
