ConocoPhillips China

Health, Safety & Social Services

Safety is a top priority for every ConocoPhillips operation worldwide. We are committed to supporting organizations that connect citizens and families in need with basic human or social services to ensure their safety, health and well-being.

The Love & Hope Project was developed by the China Association of Social Workers (CASW) and the TEDA International Cardiovascular Hospital (TICH) of Tianjin to fund heart surgery for two- to 14-year-old children born with heart conditions or who suffer from heart disease. The project is specifically aimed at orphans and children from severely deprived families.

Between 2008 and 2015, ConocoPhillips donated RMB 5.75 million (approx. US $1 million) to fund heart surgery for about 400 severely underprivileged children born with congenital heart disease.  In addition to donations, the company’s Employee Volunteer Committee frequently calls on employees to visit children receiving treatment at the hospital.

In addition to donations, supported by the company, Employee Volunteer Committee frequently call employee volunteers to visit children receiving treatment at the hospital. They bring toys and snacks and play games with them. In 2011 and 2013, a book shelf and children’s books were donated to make a reading corner in children’s rest room. Employee’s visit and companion brings happiness and consolation to the children. Since 2012 each child has received a photo album with volunteers’ wishes and photos taken during their stay in hospital as a gift.
